چکیده

Abstract The inhibitive action of 2-aminobenzothiazole (ABT) on the corrosion AA6061-T6 was evaluated in 0.5 M HCl by electrochemical techniques. results were validated theoretical calculations using density functional theory (DFT). ABT showed a mixed inhibitor behaviour with 71–90% inhibition efficiency 1 × 10 ?4 to ?3 concentration range and at 303 323 K temperature. power increases its rise temperature medium. polarization reduction rate improvement performance increasing concentrations, which reveal ABT's adsorption alloy. evaluation kinetic thermodynamic revealed that inhibits adsorption, following Langmuir isotherm model. observed increase resistance increased concentrations indicates attenuation deterioration. Furthermore, corroded inhibited specimen's surface scanning is performed confirm alloy sample electron microscopy (SEM) atomic force (AFM) Graphical abstract

Cystoseira Gibraltarica Extract as an Environmentally Sustainable Corrosion Inhibitor for Carbon steel in 1.0 M HCl Medium

This study set out to examine the cystoseira gibraltarica extract (CG) as an environmentally sustainable corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in 1.0 M HCl medium. The corrosion inhibiting effect has been studied by conventional methods such as gravimetric (weight loss) and electrochemical (EIS and PDP) methods. All the methods used in this study confirm that cystoseira gibraltarica extract has ...

Electrochemical and Quantum Chemical Study of Vanillin as a Green Corrosion Inhibitor for AA6061 in NaCl Solution

The effect of vanillin on the corrosion behavior of AA6061 Al alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution wasinvestigated using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical noise (EN) techniques. Vanillinoffers interesting possibilities for corrosion inhibition due to its nontoxicity and high solubility inaqueous media. The best inhibition effect at 200 ppm vanillin was a marked characteristic of theinhibi...
